Farnoush Samadi to jury at Albanian TIFF

Farnoush Samadi is selected as a jury member to attend the Tirana Int'l Film Festival in Albania.

Iranian director Farnoush Samadi has been selected as a jury member to attend the Tirana International Film Festival (TIFF) in Albania.

The award-winning Iranian director will be a judge at the 17th edition of the Albanian film event while last year she had her short film ‘The Role’ in competition at the same film festival.

Born in 1983, Samadi is a young Iranian short film director who has so far made a number of successful works such as ‘Gaze’, ‘The Silence’, ‘Disappearance’ and ‘More than Two Hours’.

In year 2018, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (Oscars) appointed Samadi as a member.

The TIFF aims to create a cultural center of worldwide alternative and independent cinema in Albania as well as in the region. It is the first international film festival and the only one of its kind in Albania.

Launched in 2003, this cultural event is the most important cinematic event in Balkans.

The 17th edition of the TIFF is slated for September 23-29, 2019.
